3 Bad Habits That Are Making You Less Productive in the Morning

Studies have shown that what you do in the morning has a big effect on the rest of your day.

For example, a bad way to start the day can make you feel bad and make you less productive.

To avoid this problem, don’t do these eight common things wrong when you’re getting ready in the morning:

Habit #1: You are trying to do too much.

Stop trying to do everything and pay attention to what’s most important. It’s another way of saying “less is more,” so don’t try to fix a problem you can’t fix. You’ll only make it worse.

Taking care of all the different responsibilities we have is one of the hardest things about living in the modern world.

It can feel like you’re never doing enough, but it’s important to take a step back and relax. If you take on too much, your work may not be as good or as good as it could be.

Give yourself room to breathe and time to think about what’s important.

Habit #2: Pressing the “Snooze” button

Don’t hit the “snooze” button on your alarm. You might not think it’s a big deal, but those ten minutes can mess up your schedule.

When you’re tired, it might seem like a good idea to sleep a few minutes longer.

But the truth is that napping often causes more problems than it solves.

When we sleep, there are four different stages that we go through.

Non-REM sleep happens in stages 1, 2, and 3, while REM sleep happens in stage 4.

Most of the time, we go through four stages of sleep.

The first two stages of sleep are lighter and can help us relax before we move on to stage three and REM, which are deeper and more restorative.

Every night, we go through these four stages of sleep.

About every 90 minutes, one of these four tasks is done.

If you press the “snooze” button on your alarm clock, it might be hard to get back to sleep where you left off.

So basically, when you snooze and change the way you sleep, you make yourself less tired, to the point where an extra 10–15 minutes of sleep may not seem worth it.

Habit #3: Checking your phone first thing in the morning

Your brain can work on its own while you sleep when there are no other things going on.

You can think of creative, new ways to solve everyday problems you couldn’t solve during the day.

When you wake up next to a screen, it can affect your sleep and your mood.

They also make it easier to get caught up in things that don’t make you think.

Try turning off your screens an hour before bed so you can make the best routine for the evening.

Changing our habits can be hard, but the best way to do it is to start small and not try to do too much at once.

People have been trying to break the habit of checking their phones first thing in the morning, and it can be hard to make big changes at that time.

You can start by waiting 5 minutes before checking your phone in the morning.

After a few days, make it 10 minutes, and then slowly make the time between checks longer.

You should wait at least an hour after getting up to check your phone, so you have time to do other things in the morning.
