The 5-second rule by Mel Robbins was very helpful to me. According to this rule, if you feel the need to do something and don’t act on that feeling within 5 seconds, your brain will trick you into believing that you’ll be doing it in 5 minutes.

If you don’t feel like paying a bill right now, just make a note to pay it the next time you get the chance.
