9 Traits Of Highly Charismatic People
People with charisma are, without a doubt, some of the most successful people out there.
Professor Wiseman at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK says that charisma is 50% natural and 50% learned.
The most important parts of charisma are simple actions that, with practice, become a part of your personality and help you get along better with everyone around you. This makes you happier in life as a whole.
Here are nine things that charismatic people have that you can use in your own life.
1. Pay attention and listen closely
Give them your full attention when you listen, and then ask questions.
Don’t look at your phone more than once during a conversation. Even better, don’t look at it at all. A study from the University of Colorado found that active listening helps people talk more and avoids misunderstandings.
Actively listening to the people around you will help you talk to them better, whether you work with them or live with them.
People tend to remember positive people who are good listeners.
2- Share praise and phrases.
“It’s not what you say, but how you say it” is a common saying.
Before you criticize someone, think about how you would like to be criticized.
Be direct and talk about the problem, offer a solution, ask for feedback, and set a time limit.
At the same time, be sure to give credit and praise where it’s due.
When someone has done a good job on a project or in a presentation, make them feel important by giving them praise.
Having confidence in yourself is important, but charisma is being able to make other people feel the same way.
3- Eye Contact
When someone is talking to you or when you are talking to them, look them in the eyes.
Eye contact is an important part of communication because it lets you see if your message is getting through.
It keeps the other person’s attention on you and yours on what they are saying and what it means.
When giving a presentation or speech, look at as many people in the room as you can once. It will give your audience a much more personal feeling about the whole event.
4- Stand up straight!
Imagine a string going from your belly button up through your head and into the ceiling.
It’s an old trick that dancers use, and the rest of us can use it too to keep good posture all day.
Good posture makes you look safe and sure of yourself. If you don’t feel that way today, fake it until you feel it! Make sure your shoulders are down.
5- They know what they want to do.
People who have charisma know who they are and what they want in life.
They have honed their vision and are able to talk about it clearly.
Being charming is not the same as having charisma.
Charismatic people often have the ability to create a vision and convince others to join them in that vision.
What do you want to do? Do you know what’s most important to you? If you had to tell other people about your vision, could you do it in a way that would get them on board?
6- They talk from a place of joy.
You might not even know what it is about charismatic people that draws you to them.
Is it how they talk, how they dress, or what they say?
Often, it’s how they show how much they love life, and how much they JOY.
People who are seen as charismatic tend to have a “spark of life” that isn’t always present in others.
7- They are excited and full of life.
People with a lot of charisma tend to be optimistic.
They can find good in any situation, which helps them live with more passion and excitement.
When you put yourself into something, you love and believe in it, and that love and belief show in your passion and energy.
People want to be friends with and follow those who care about something bigger than themselves.
Are you optimistic? Are you excited and full of life? How do you express your passions? What are your interests that people would notice right away?
8- They are always getting better and smarter.
People with charisma are full of life.
They are always trying to get better at what they do and are always hungry for more education and more knowledge.
They always seem to always know what’s going on. People who are charismatic don’t stay the same. People are drawn to them because they are active, smart, and full of life.
9- They are convincing.
People who have charisma are very interesting.
They are good at getting people to listen to their ideas, see things from their point of view, and agree that their reasons and arguments are valid.
Because of this, they can get other people to agree with them and grow closer to them.
People with charisma are good at presenting information and persuading others to support their plans and ideas.
As a result, they are also good at negotiating contracts because of their sharp and persuasive skills.
If you want to be charismatic and get other people to agree with you, you should work on your ability to persuade them.
This will give you a chance to get their support and persuade them to do what you want.
